Sodexo's growing Healthcare Technology Management Division is seeking solution-oriented candidates who excel at customer service with a proven success as an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician II to support Healthcare Technology service for UT Health a well-respected & prestigious healthcare system located in San Antonio, TX.

The main role / responsibilities of the position will be to ensure all related biomedical equipment is maintained in a quality and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service and communications skills as well as strong technical skills and commitment to deliver excellent repair service in an expedient manner.

What You'll Do

Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Account Manager/Site Supervisor and other senior technicians, inspects, repairs, maintains and calibrates a comprehensive range of clinical equipment, devices, systems, and instruments. A BMET II possesses the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a broad range of clinical inventory devices. Participates in and conducts on-the job training programs regarding technical, administrative, and customer service requirements.

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, maintain and calibrate a basic range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments.
  • Provide advanced support of equipment for direct patient care
  • Interact on a routine basis with clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems and solutions
  • Solve organization-level customer service issues and complaints
  • Prepare required documentation and reports
  • Ensure regulatory compliance adherence
  • Financial responsibility for purchasing parts and service
  • Demonstrate a safety mindset

What You Bring

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience repairing, maintaining, and calibrating medical devices independently.
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • The ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and time management skills.
  • Experience effectively repairing, maintaining and calibrating clinical devices such as: General Biomedical Devices- ESU's, Vital sign machines, Defibrillators, AD's, Telemetry, EKG, IV Infusion Pumps, Patent Monitoring Systems, Sensor Scientific, RTLS, plus OR, and some high risk equipment experience such as Respiratory, Ventilators or Anesthesia (not all are required).

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting
