Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the development of our time series forecasting models for growth, retention, probabilistic segmentation, classification models, sampling and others using advanced statistical and ML techniques

  • Lead the development of our predictive algorithms across a number of different areas all with the aim of better understanding our customer and our business. 

  • Responsible for iterating on existing and prototyping new algorithms, building these algorithms with robust test coverage and working with engineering so they can be integrated into our production code base, when applicable. 

  • Function as an expert and collaborate with the rest of the team to assess how analyses can be adjusted for better predictive power.

  • Proactively identify opportunities that can benefit from data science analysis and present those findings.

  • Be the expert at utilizing data sources across the organization with ability to integrate data across multiple platforms where joins do not exist, account for missing data and other approaches to clean and enhance our data.

  • Build forecasting models for various KPIs and metrics to support the goal setting process. 

  • Work effectively across multiple business units with numerous stakeholders to deliver advanced analytics solutions.

  • Provide strategic direction, project clarity, methodological consultation and deliver results both individually and through managing a high performing team.

  • Lead the development & implementation of regular insights share-outs that drive the consumer voice throughout the organization.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

 

  • Ability to identify specific and actionable opportunities to solve existing business problems through data modeling and in collaboration with engineering, product and business teams. 

  • Experience providing technical and analytical leadership to others in the development of a broad range of complex models that support business needs.

  • Experience making complex and broad predictions based on a vast amount of past and/or present data through the development of statistical and/or mathematical models

  • Experience developing scalable mathematical models and solving complex quantitative problems that can be understood by non-mathematical colleagues. 

  • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms (supervised and unsupervised learning) and advanced statistics (time series forecasting, clustering algorithms, probabilistic models)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as math, statistics, and computer science, or equivalent years of experience

  • 8+ years of experience in measurement and insights; ideally in a direct to consumer business

  • 5+ years experience in building, managing, and leading a high-performing data analytics team

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Computer Science, Physics)

  • Experience in digital marketing measurement

  • SQL (Snowflake, BQ Amazon Redshift,, etc.) experience and relational databases experience

  • Java and/or Python development experience

  • Experience working in Big Data stack environments (AWS, Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, etc.)
