Security Engineer, New Grad

We’re looking for a New Grad Security Engineer to join our InfoSec organization as a member of the Application Security, Production Security, Corporate Security or Detection and Response team! Depending on final team allocation, you will conduct security assessments / testing, harden our development life-cycle, develop comprehensive threat detection capabilities, and build the security fabric for a modern massive scale production infrastructure. Working from either Santa Monica (most teams), Mountain View (Detection & Response, Spam & Abuse, Production Security, CorpSec), Seattle (AppSec), or New York (Detection & Response, Client Hardening), you’ll collaborate with engineers across many disciplines to keep Snap’s user data, environments, and employees safe. 

• What you’ll do:

  • Conduct in-depth security reviews of applications, back-end services, and business integrations, as well as build tools for a secure development lifecycle 

  • Design and implement secure solutions for authentication and authorization, networking, orchestration, deployment configuration, logging, system hardening, threat hunting and debugging of cloud services

  • Investigate events, triage potential incidents, and work closely with multiple Snap Inc. teams during incidents to drive response efforts

  • Be a champion for security and user privacy

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong Security Engineering fundamentals in several of the following areas; network security, application security, cryptography, authentication & authorization, vulnerabilities, os internals, etc.

  • Good problem solving skills

• Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a BS/BA degree (or equivalent years of experience) in computer science or a related technical field or equivalent years of experience

  • Graduating December 2021 - May 2022

  • While security engineering skills are preferred, we welcome software engineers with an interest in security
     

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • Someone who gets excited by tough technical challenges

  • Someone who loves to learn, and is passionate about helping others

  • Experience with mobile apps and/or databases

  • Someone who can collaborate and work well with others

  • A passion for Snapchat and creativity!
