Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) & Security Specialist

We’re looking for a Health, Safety, Environment (HSE)  & Security Specialist to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Global Security team, you will implement Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Fire & Life Safety, and Environmental Compliance programs. You’ll collaborate with various teams, such as Security, Legal, People, SnapLabs and Workplace Services, to implement programs that will help run Snap's HSE risks in Europe. You will work from our London or Abingdon office primarily supporting WaveOptics operations in Abingdon/Oxfordshire and Snap Inc operations in Europe.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with leadership, and other partners such as HR, Finance, IT, and Legal to facilitate development of HSE programs, policies and work procedures which include hazard identification evaluation and control, accident/injury prevention, hazardous materials/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics / DSE, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct HSE compliance assessments to assure compliance and take effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions follow applicable local, national and international HSE requirements

  • Perform comprehensive risk assessments and hazard  inspections and work with relevant organizations to correct those hazards

  • Perform HSE functions across Snap facilities in Europe

  • Identify training requirements, develop content, and deliver training

  • Inspect workplaces for hazards and security and work with relevant organizations to correct those hazards

  • Respond to, and investigate emergencies, incidents, and accidents

  • Manage emergency procedures and organize emergency teams such as fire wardens and first aiders

  • Track and report on key performance indicators related to HSE

  • Provide site security operations program support, specifically focused on security technology, emergency response, and security vendor engagement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical expertise managing emergency planning, Fire & Life Safety, lab safety, machine safety, indoor air quality, injury and illness prevention, contractor safety and e-waste programs

  • Ability to efficiently balance multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with internal partners and external consultants, vendors, and other partners

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to accommodate tight time constraints and shifting priorities

  • Goal-oriented and able to navigate ambiguity while operating with minimal direction

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in HSE focused subject area or equivalent years of experience

  • 3+ years of Health, Safety and  Environmental (HSE) experience

  • Ability to obtain Laser Safety Officer certification
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a multinational organization

  • Knowledge & experience of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001

  • Related professional certification ( NEBOSH or equivalent certification)  

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

  • ​​Experience working in the security, medical, emergency services, law enforcement, military, or customer service industry is helpful

  • Ability to work comfortably in a team environment, as well as individually

  • Strong time management, ability to multitask, and attention to detail capabilities

  • Ability to master the company's computer based technologies
