As a Snap Engineering team member, you’ll help us build the future of communication.

We’re looking for a Head of Engineering for Data & Insights team to join our team!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead strategy, execution, and end results of the end-to-end data ecosystem at Snap and enable data-informed decision making across the company.

  • Develop organizational-level goals, drive the technical and organizational roadmap for the engineering team while collaborating on the product and business on strategies.

  • Collaborate with and influence Engineering, Legal, Privacy, Ops, Finance, Product, and partner Engineering teams such as Infrastructure Growth, Camera, Creative Tools, and Messaging.

  • Build an execution machine, iterate quickly without compromising quality, and raise the bar on operational excellence.

  • Own key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering.

  • Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers and technical leaders.

  • Own the complete data strategy and work with our executive leadership team to improve decision making at Snap. 

  • Directly responsible for several top-line goals that directly impact our community and our business, The job is challenging, meaningful, and fun

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 8+ years of management experience.

  • Experience with mobile apps development and operating large-scale backend services.

  • Track record of building, growing, and mentoring high performing large teams.

  • Passionate about problem-solving with strong technical communication skills and desire to collaborate with others.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) working on well-recognized consumer products influencing the life of hundreds of millions users.

  • Experience managing 100+ engineers and experience with managing managers and complex cross-functional dependencies.

  • Track record of building new or hyper-growth products succeeding at a large scale. Familiar with agile, iterative, and growth-driven product development.

  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments.

  • Experience with data engineering, data science and ML technologies.

  • Relevant experience with Internet-scale infrastructure.

  • Have a passion to learn new things, develop people, and make a business impact at a very large scale.
