Director, Augmented Reality Studio

We are looking for a passionate Director of our Augmented Reality (AR) Studio in Paris to spearhead the first Snap AR Studio, to foster and accelerate the adoption of AR not only in France, but all of Europe. France has been a key player in the development of AR and we look to grow the AR ecosystem with a strong focus on building a cohesive environment, to drive greater awareness of the potential of AR and increase its impact across the arts, education and cultural sectors. The development of cutting-edge AR applications will help accelerate the growth of local talents in France and in Europe via dedicated curriculums and fostering innovative and futuristic new career opportunities for 3D artists.

Ideal candidates for this role will have an extensive understanding and interest in concepts/deliverables as well as a proven background of working with relevant partners to find success and generate high-impact, innovative results. This role requires ties to the creative community in Paris and close cross-functional collaboration with colleagues in Product, Design, Sales, Comms and Marketing in addition to various other Snapchat teams around the world. 

As Director, you will manage the studio, and work with Snap’s partnerships, lens, and creative strategy teams to lead, develop, manage and maintain strategic partners as well as strategize and execute compelling programming in acting as the Snap’s brand ambassador for AR.  Working from our Paris headquarters you will ensure that these important relationships and concepts/deliverables meet the strategic objectives for Snap Inc., serving as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. 

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and General Manager for activities like driving AR projects, Programming, Public Relations (PR) opportunities, working closely with the public policy team in France and Europe and having a pulse on the day-to-day progress of the team.

  • Identify, source, and recruit AR brands, agencies, and companies in France by ensuring we are maximizing AR impact across the arts, educational and cultural sectors to grow our AR Ecosystem in France

  • Build partnerships with art & design schools to identify talent early and inspire by fostering relationships & grow AR awareness. Build also partnerships with Art, Culture, Fashion (Museums, Exhibitions, Events) and Education (Schools, Government…).

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Snap’s key strategic partners

  • Drive brand strategy while assisting partners in investing and developing concept/deliverables on Snapchat with a focus on organic products that drive brand awareness and adoption (e.g., AR technology, Organic Lenses, Business Profiles (which include Lenses in Explorer, Stories in For You / Subscriptions, and Highlights), and Snapcodes

  • Support the execution of the strategy for Snapchat’s products and initiatives

  • Work cross-functionally across teams and help lead holistic, Snap-wide brand initiatives

  • Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experienced relationship builder with a track record of success building long-term, strategic partnerships

  • Experience working with senior/C-suite leaders, both internally and externally

  • Adaptable learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to be execution and detail-oriented, while simultaneously able to see the strategic the big picture and envision the future

  • Collaborative leader who is able to multitask across several projects 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in a brand strategy role

  • Experience with working with global brand activations

  • Experience in building experiences and partnerships in AR/VR

  • BA/BS degree 
or equivalent work experience

  • Fluent in French and English is required to perform the core job duties 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in executing innovative partnerships

  • Passion for Snapchat
