We’re looking for a Brand Insights Lead to join our Marketing Insights & Strategy team!

  • What you’ll do:

    • Partner with Marketing, Strategy, Media, Finance, Product, and Data Science teams to establish and refine marketing strategies for Snap Inc features / products / initiatives related to developers, augmented reality, and camera (both Snapchat and hardware).

    • Independently manage complex internally-facing brand insights projects of varying scope including custom 3P studies, syndicated sources, and 1P research.

    • Employ a variety of market research methods / techniques such as positioning testing, segmentation creation and usage, brand tracking techniques and best practices, focus groups, IDIs, ethnographies, MaxDiff positioning studies, conjoint/discrete choice models.

    • Fully plan and execute the end-to-end process for quantitative and qualitative research studies, including vendor management / onboarding, research briefs and proposals, questionnaire / discussion guide development, data analysis, deliverable creation, socialization, and stakeholder management / engagement.

    • Gain and evangelize a holistic understanding and appreciation for key Snap audience targets (needs, wants, and desires).

    • Build and maintain relationships across Marketing and the broader Snap organization.

    • Proactively monitor syndicated sources for relevant insights and socialize as appropriate to internal stakeholders.

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Fluent in qual and quant- understands when to use what method and how to blend various methods together.

    • Understanding of a variety of market research methods / techniques and how/when to use within Marketing (positioning and copy testing, segmentation creation and usage, brand tracking techniques and best practices, focus groups, IDIs, ethnographies, MaxDiff positioning studies, conjoint/discrete choice models).

    • Knowledge of statistical concepts and how to apply them to research methods.

    • Understanding of how to evaluate the efficacy of a marketing campaign.

    • Strong synthesis skills across multiple types of research.  Makes recommendations with a strong, data-driven point of view.

    • Understands where to "poke holes" and challenge research to make outcomes more bulletproof.

    • Keen ability to connect the dots between disparate sources and think strategically about how recommendations will impact the bottom line of the business in the short-term and long-term.

    • Exceptional attention to detail with an eye for presentation design and conveying granular data in a digestible way.

    • Able to lead research with minimal oversight and strong strategic thinking capabilities.

    • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, work flawlessly under tight deadlines, and prioritize across several simultaneous projects.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with a team player attitude.

    • A passion for Snapchat and understanding consumer behavior.

  • Minimum Qualifications: 

    • BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.

    • 8+ years of experience in global market research; 3+ years working in brand-side marketing.  

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience researching developers and/or AR creators perceptions and needs.

    • Experience working in augmented reality, camera apps, and/or hardware.

    • Experience in audience development and pricing model creation.

    • Deep understanding of Snap and what makes it so unique.
