Systems Test Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

Systems Test Engineering Intern - El Segundo, CA

This is a full-time (40 hours / week) internship based in our El Segundo lab. As an Engineering Intern on our Systems Test Team, you will work on challenging technical projects that uphold our core value of safety and contribute to our path to certification. You will provide technical support for system integration of our fly-by-wire control system, as well as develop and execute system-level test cases that range from functional verifications to failure injections on everything from avionics to actuation.

The Summer Intern Program will run for 12 weeks starting in May / June depending on your academic calendar.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with system testing campaign, which includes analysis of requirements, development of test plans/procedures, hands-on test execution, writing automated test scripts in Python, and post-processing data 
• Support system integration activities, including interface management, verification and validation, and influencing the design of system architecture and parameters
• Support design and maintenance of a System Integration Lab (SIL) to provide a flight simulation environment with our hardware and software in the loop.
• Develop models, test logic, and sensor emulation in a MATLAB/Simulink environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing your Bachelors or Masters in an engineering discipline (Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering)
• Graduating between December 2025 & June 2026

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Coursework in systems engineering
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and Python
• Familiarity with Git and JIRA
• Prior internship experience in aviation a bonus
