Senior Human Factors Engineer

SENIOR HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO, CA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create high level requirements for the human-machine interface across multiple platforms, informed by certification guidelines and user insights
  • Design, scope, and run primary user research studies with test pilots and other target users in the context of general aviation including vehicles and the overall related aviation ecosystem.
  • Develop user personas to inform design across a variety of platforms and projects
  • Facilitate design research synthesis and collaboratively generate insights and opportunities for product development
  • Employ both qualitative and quantitative research methods to support design decisions
  • Creates, evaluates, and modifies prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors Engineering, Usability Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience supporting Human Factors design in Aerospace, Automotive, or similar industries
  • Experience with aircraft avionics systems software and hardware
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree. in Human Factors Engineering,Usability Engineering  Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience supporting Human Factors design in Aerospace, Automotive, or similar industries
  • Certified Associate or Full Human Factors, Ergonomics or User Experience Professional (AHFP, AUXP, AEP, CHFP, CPE, CUXP)
  • Proven track record in New Product Development with a focus in Human Factors, from concept to production

The base salary range is $130,000 - $180,000 USD a year. Your base salary will be determined on experience and the pay of of employees in similar positions.
