Job Description
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in driving an efficient monthly close, ensuring accurate reporting, and strengthening internal controls. You will work cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, and external auditors, while also contributing to process improvements and system optimization that enhance our overall accounting function.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the monthly close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare key reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Legal, and external auditors to support SEC filings, audits, and variance analyses.
- Assist in the review of purchase requests prior to conversion to purchase order.
- Drive process improvements by implementing automation tools and maintaining up-to-date accounting policies and controls.
Key Competencies
- [Accounting] Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with demonstrated ability to develop and execute efficient accounting policies, SOPs, and close procedures. Takes full ownership of assigned deliverables with a hands-on approach, while confidently challenging adjustments from team members when accuracy or compliance is at risk.
- [Technical] Ownership of recurring reporting processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, roll-forwards, and flux analyses. Demonstrates ability to investigate unusual transactions, identify errors or misstatements, and ensure completeness and accuracy prior to managerial review.
- [Controls and Systems] Working knowledge of internal controls, with demonstrated ability to document the performance of control activities. Proficiency with NetSuite (or comparable ERP), demonstrated by the ability to, prepare lead sheets, and structure or maintain a chart of accounts.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience in mid-cap ($200M–$500M revenue) or larger companies, with a demonstrated expertise in operational accounting.
- 2 years of public accounting experience preferred, ideally with exposure to both public and private companies, and proven ability to work effectively with external and internal auditors.
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA).
- Knowledge of NetSuite or other comparable general ledger systems.
- Experience with ZIP or other procurement software.
Total Starting Compensation including Base + Bonus + Equity: $130,000
Location: Las Vegas HQ - Onsite for 5 days per week
