Key competencies:

Accounting Competency

  • Must have proficiency in accounting concepts.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing highly efficient accounting policies and SOPs and U.S. GAAP, including system implementations or conversions.

  • Should possess an "individual contributor" mindset with the ability to make adjustments to accounting entries if circumstances dictate.

  • Experience in international consolidations is a plus.

Reporting Competency

  • Competency in preparing Quarterly and Annual Financial reporting packages, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.

  • Ability to review consolidation worksheets and subsidiary reporting packages.

Technical Competency

  • Technical expertise with a proven record of owning all reporting processes and financial consolidation processes.

  • Ability to analyze and review accounts for unusual fluctuations or improper postings.

Systems Competency

  • Proficiency in accounting systems, with demonstrated knowledge and experience in using or implementing new accounting systems such as NetSuite (or comparable systems), Blackline, GoogleDocs, and Workiva.

Compliance Competency

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP with specific emphasis on consolidations and VIEs/SPEs (ASC 810-10), SBC (ASC 718), business segments (ASC 280), business acquisitions (ASC 805), income taxes (ASC 840), and goodwill impairment testing (ASC 350-40).

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Experience in monthly recurring tasks such as adjusting and closing journal entries and closing financial statements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant operational accounting experience

  • Minimum of 4 years working with external and/or internal auditors

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a general ledger or financial analyst position with a background in account reconciliation and financial statement preparation

  • CPA preferred but not required

  • Knowledge of NetSuite, Blackline, or other relevant systems

  • Public accounting experience is preferred but not required.
