Sales Planner

We're seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Sales Planner to join the AMP Sports Ad Sales team. This role is responsible for supporting the pre-sale and mid-flight operational process - developing accurate, strategic media plans and ensuring smooth campaign delivery across Digital, Linear, Social, and Audio platforms.
The Sales Planner works closely with Sales, Pricing & Planning, Inventory, and Ad Operations to ensure proposals, billing, and reporting are precise and aligned with business goals. This position is focused on sales and planning operations,not client relationship management.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Sale Strategy & Proposal Development
- Develop and refine multi-platform media plans aligned with sales strategy, pricing guidance, and client goals.
- Partner with the Sales team to translate RFPs into actionable, competitive proposals.
- Collaborate with Pricing & Planning to maintain rate integrity and ensure margin objectives are met.
- Coordinate with Inventory Management to confirm availability and optimize utilization across campaigns.
- Maintain deal accuracy from proposal through IO submission, ensuring plans reflect current inventory and approved pricing.
- Track sold inventory and forecast revenue pacing for assigned accounts.
- Own the preparation and accuracy of campaign performance reports, surfacing results and pacing updates to the Account Manager for client delivery.
- Partner with Campaign Management and Finance to reconcile billing, delivery, and revenue discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date records of booked revenue, flight dates, and campaign changes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Provide proactive visibility into any pacing or delivery concerns that may impact revenue or performance to Account Management and Sales.

- Process and review Insertion Orders (IOs) to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved plans.
- Collaborate with Campaign Management and Traffick teams to support smooth campaign setup and execution readiness.
- Support Operation Leadership in forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management.
- Maintain and improve internal planning documents, templates, and pricing matrices.
- Identify workflow efficiencies to improve speed and accuracy across Sales Planning and Campaign Management.
- Work with Marketing and Research to incorporate sponsorship opportunities or insights into proposals when applicable.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in media planning, sales operations, or pricing & inventory within a publisher, network, or agency.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ad sales systems such as Freewheel, Operative One/AOS, WideOrbit, Broadway, Prisma, or Google Ad Manager.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $65,000 to $70,000. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a quarterly performance-based bonus. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
