WPEC is looking for a Newscast Director! The successful candidate will be responsible for coding and executing newscasts using Ross Overdrive production automation software in collaboration with producers and fellow directors.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare newscasts for air using Ross Overdrive automation software
• Direct and TD any assigned newscasts and recordings using Overdrive
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Work with Operations and Engineering to resolve control room/show production technical issues.
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned
• Maintain a high standard of quality for his/her own work
Requirements:
• Proficient in the use of basic computer systems (Windows Operating System) and software

• Experience Directing and TDing newscasts, studio shows or sporting events
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew under tight deadlines and during live production
• Typing skill and good spelling necessary
• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
• Must be able to work well in a team environment
• Experience with Ross xPression, Ross acuity or carbonite switchers a plus
• Ability to respond quickly to solve or work around problems during live show production.
• Must be able to work flexible schedule which may include overnights, weekends and holidays
