STS Internship Program, Belgium
The Strategic Student Program's STS Internship Program provides real-world engineering experience to students with interests in simulation software, testing systems, and customer practices. Project domains include system dynamics, structural integrity, flow-thermal analysis, control systems, reliability, acoustics, and energy efficiency. These internships are designed to align with the academic programs of top technical universities in Belgium and across the EU, offering direct support for innovation and practical applications of simulation technology.

Internship Starting Cycles
The STS Internship Program starting dates occur in the following two main cycles each year:
- Late August to Early October
- Late February to Early April
This scheduling is designed to align with academic calendars across the European Union and maximize integration into ongoing projects.
Modalities
Internships take place at Siemens facilities in Leuven, Belgium, with the following flexible formats:
- Industrial internship (3-6 months)
- Master's thesis research project (6-9 months)
- Summer internship (1-3 months)
The Interns of the STS Internship Program
Candidates typically come from Master's programs in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science
- Robotics
- Physics
- Mathematics
Essential qualities include creativity, analytical problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and a strong interest in Simulation & Test Software.
Requirements for Applicants
- Enrollment in a Master's program at an EU university throughout the internship period
- EU Nationals or international students with valid Belgian student visa
- Completion of the STS Internship Program questionnaire
- Strong command of English (written and spoken)
- Interest in simulation technologies, especially Siemens Simcenter
- Undergo Siemens' standard background check for export control compliance
- Include a motivation letter (as a page within your CV in PDF format)
- Siemens Software issues its own internship agreement, which requires approval from the intern's university of origin to proceed. An exception is made for KU Leuven, which utilizes its own agreement process owing to a formal cooperation agreement established between Siemens Software and the university.

This is a talent pool opportunity - not a direct application to a specific role. Siemens DISW creates vacancies based on applicant profiles and upcoming project needs. Candidates will be contacted if their profile aligns with current opportunities, unless you have already been pre-selected.
Important: Siemens reserves the right to close registrations early due to high volume. Registered students may be contacted for future opportunities and events.
This is an unpaid academic internship, in accordance with Belgian legislation.
