EDA/CAD Tool Researcher & Software Developer
Join the Calibre™ R&D Team at Siemens EDA
We are seeking a highly motivated EDA/CAD tool researcher and software developer, preferably with expertise in high-performance scientific computing (numerical algorithms, linear/PDE solvers, computational geometry, distributed processing, OpenMPI, GPU/CUDA).
This is your role!
The Calibre family of tools is the industry leader in EDA/CAD solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, enabling simulations and diagnostics from the transistor to the package level. As the semiconductor industry continues its rapid growth, there is a critical demand for high-fidelity modeling and high-throughput numerical simulations to support the production of stable, high-volume chips at advanced technology nodes.
In this role, you will collaborate with industry leaders to develop cutting-edge tools that drive semiconductor manufacturing and IC design at the most advanced nodes (5/4/3/2/1.4nm and beyond, NAND/DRAM, CIS, and 3DIC/advanced packaging). Your work will directly impact scientific computing challenges within the semiconductor industry.
Required Experience
The ideal candidate should possess the following education and experience:
- We seek a PhD (or MS + 5+ years of research/proven experience) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc.), with expertise in
Scientific computing: Numerical algorithms (FEM/FD/FVM), linear/PDE solvers, convex optimization, computational geometry.
High-performance computing: Distributed processing, OpenMPI, GPU acceleration, CUDA ecosystems.
- We value your Programming skills: Proficiency in C/C++, CUDA, Python.
- Proficiency AI/ML applications: Leveraging AI/ML to accelerate problem solving processes.
- Semiconductor knowledge (preferred but not required): Process technologies (photolithography, etch, deposition, CMP) and basic semiconductor device physics.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving abilities with a passion for tackling complex computational challenges.
- Proven track record of accurately estimating software development tasks and consistently delivering on schedule.
- Communicate effectively through excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
