Software Engineer Advanced (f/m/x) - Numerical Methods and Linear Algebra

What You Will Be Doing

As part of the Numerical and Linear Algebra team, you contribute to the research and development of innovative methods for the resolution of the linear system of equation including direct methods, iterative methods, domain decomposition. In particular, you contribute to high performance computing using hybrid architecture (multithreading, multi-process and GPU).

You imagine and design innovative solutions in a scientific, dynamic, and international environment. Within your team, you develop your skills through contact with experienced developers. Thanks to your inputs to the technical direction and collaboration with other teams, you are a key contributor to the success of our products.

Sharing our prime concern of customer satisfaction, you contribute to the overall functional quality of the released products, with focus on surpassing customer expectations, on achieving high-quality and on-time delivery. You work on maintaining our software highly competitive and a cutting-edge solution on the market. Occasional consults with customers will take place regarding future upgrades and products.

This position is to be filled potentially at different locations EU (Paris, Leuven, Liege, Barcelona, Den Haag).

What you will need to bring

• We would love to hear from if you have a MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Computational Mechanics, and a successful experience in software development (strong beginner candidates will be considered as well).
• In-depth knowledge of Numerical Analysis and Linear Algebra is a must. Experience in High Performance Computing and/or GPU Processing will represent an asset. The knowledge of the solution methods used in linear or non-linear computational mechanics will also be considered as an advantage.
• You have proven skills in programming.
• You should come with strong abilities to use sophisticated products, to understand complex problems, and to find efficient solutions.
• Your organizational and planning skills allow you to hit the deadlines under strict project timelines while not sacrificing quality in the code. We would like you to bring creative problem-solving skills but also pragmatism when needed.
• Thanks to your communication skills and your level of English, you build positive relationships with your colleagues, and you integrate easily in an international team. You have team spirit, and you are flexible.
