Senior Software Engineer - Inverse Lithography and GPU

The Calibre team develops software tools for the worlds most advanced semiconductor manufacturers. Our engineers are interested in solving challenging problems involving math, physics, and engineering, by applying the most powerful software techniques including Machine Learning and GPU acceleration.

This position is responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and implementing software programming for Siemens EDA Calibre semiconductor manufacturing products. Specifically focus on high-performance computing (HPC) and accelerated computing projects. Ensures the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, modifying, and implementing Calibre software products in the area of HPC and hardware acceleration.

• Develop software applications that leverage hardware acceleration technologies such as GPUs, FPGAs, and other specialized processing units.

• Design, implement, and optimize parallel algorithms and data structures for use on large-scale HPC clusters.

• Develop and maintain software tools and libraries for use by other software developers in the company.

• Conduct performance analysis and tuning of software applications to achieve maximum efficiency on HPC clusters.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in HPC and accelerated computing technologies and incorporate them into software development projects.

• Providing technical advice to senior engineers for improving code performance through hardware acceleration.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications.

• Interact with other cross functional teams such as product management, QA and customer support units.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related field.

• 4-7 years of experience in software development, HPC or accelerated computing.

• Strong programming skills in C, C++ and parallel programing frameworks.

• Experience in parallel algorithm design, parallel programming models.

• Experience with GPU programming from at least one GPU hardware vendors such as NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, etc.

• Familiarity with software development tools such as Git, and Make.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Programming skills in other programming language such as Python, Bash, etc.

• Familiarity with parallel programming libraries such as OpenMPI and OpenMP.

• Familiarity with GPU programming frameworks other than CUDA such as HIP, ROCm, SYCL, OpenAcc, Kokkos, etc

• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing process or Electronic Design Automation software tools

• Familiarity with computational geometry

Thisposition will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under theInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export AdministrationRegulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S.Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The salary range for this position is $121,400 to$218,500 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actualcompensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location aswell as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, andrelevant education/training.
