Senior Field Applications Engineer

Fremont, CA

We are seeking a dynamic and professional technical person, who enjoys multi-tasking in a fast paced, fun, and friendly environment. In this position you will be focused on technical support for Siemens EDA leading-edge Calibre products.

Drive adoption of Siemens EDA Calibre family of software products by executing both pre-sale and post-sale technical support activities. Assess how company products meet customer needs. Prepare product specifications for development and installation of customized applications/solutions. Develop and deliver software demonstrations and technical presentations. Present software solutions at conferences and technical forums to increase awareness of products and generate leads. Perform benchmark evaluations for customers. Provide on-site support during enablement, integration, and deployment of and when issues arise with use of Siemens EDA software products. Work with area sales management, account teams and customers to understand business opportunities. Contribute to technical sales plans, communicate with peers, and field technical management on progress and account status. Provide pre-sales technical support for sales presentations and product demonstrations. Work with marketing and product managers to define new products and provide insight from the field. Establish strategies to broaden target applications for software products.

The job will be based in Fremont, CA with as much as 25% travel.

Qualifications:

• Minimum education required for the position and fields of study

• Bachelor's degree, or foreign academic equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, VLSI. Master's degree strongly preferred.

• Required experience with IC Physical Verification including (Calibre, ICV, Assura, PVS)

• Preferred experience with DRC (Design Rule Checking), LVS (Layout vs. Schematic), ERC (Electrical Rule Checks), PEX (Parasitic Extraction), PERC (Programmable Electrical Rule Checking) type verification flows

• Strong background in IC design, preferably in transistor level with a focus on analog mixed signal, custom IP development, memory structures and circuit design concepts

• Preferred experience of circuit reliability design issues, including low power, mixed signal, floating gates, domain crossing, leakage, and others.

• Experience with device and interconnect modeling tools/methodologies. Particularly familiarity with point-to-point (P2P) resistance, TLP and VF-TLP measurements with multiple tools for both static and dynamic solutions.

• A working familiarity of Unix and Linux OS Prior experience with CAD scripting and rule deck languages: SVRF/TVF, Tcl/Tk, Skill, Perl, Scheme, etc

• This role requires a strong engineering background, ability to work effectively in teams, excellent analytical capabilities, and strong communication skills to describe, understand, interpret, and influence product requirements to software development teams.

• Exposure to sales and applications environment is a plus

The totalcash compensation range for this position is $135,700 to $271,400 with 20% of thisbeing comprised of an annual incentive target. The actual compensation offeredis based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additionalfactors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevanteducation/training.
