Siemens is seeking to hire aProject Test Engineer as a part of sustained worldwide growth. This is anexciting opportunity to contribute during the entire software life cycle of ourmultiscale computational chemistry software Culgi.
You will be a key member ofthe team while working independently to prepare test plans and test cases,review testing checklists and validate the solutions delivered by development.
Your uncompromising attentionto detail will be required to run, monitor, and triage regression tests on aregular basis, while your knowledge and experience will help to improve testcoverage, tools and processes. So, you must communicate proactively andeffectively with local and global team members, team leads, project managers,software developers, and management on issues.
The Project Test Engineerwill document all problems, work to resolve them and report progress on problemresolution to management.
Responsibilities
o Assessment of new productfunctionality.
o Develop and document testplans and procedures to verify that our software products and releases meet theestablished functionality and performance goals.
o Implementation of SoftwareTesting strategies including the execution of System, Integration, Unit and GUItesting to fulfil the quality requirements on our products.
o Test the products anddocument and communicate the results of that testing.
o Detailed reporting ofsoftware defects, communication of risks to leads and follow-up withstakeholders to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
o Develop automated testingprocedures and programs to enhance certification efforts.
o Contribute to strategicdirections for the entire Quality Assurance organization.
o Collaboratively contributeto plans for overall quality improvement and obtain signoff from allstakeholders as required.
o Effectively work with aglobally dispersed team.
o Participate effectively incross-functional teams.
o Work with other developmentareas to improve fault prevention higher up the development stream.
o Participate in testingprojects as the representative of Quality Assurance.
RequiredKnowledge/Skills, Education and Experience
• Master's degreein Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or other closely related field.
• Experience in performingsimulations of molecules, either at the quantum, atomistic, or coarse-grainedlevel.
• Experience inPhysical Chemistry
• Demonstrated proficiency ofwritten and spoken English.
• Strong communicationskills.
• Ability to apply advancedlevel technical skills cooperatively in a challenging, fast-paced environmenton a team with experienced professionals.
• Flexibility to work indifferent domain areas when business demands.
PreferredKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
• Knowledge ofthermodynamics, chemical informatics will be an additional advantage
• Basic knowledge ofprogramming and/or scripting languages.
• Significant professionalexperience as Quality Assurance and /or Testing experience will be anadditional advantage.
• Experience in managing amulti-platform (Windows / Linux) test environment.
