What Is the Opportunity?
The Technology and Innovation segment of the Siemens Digital IndustriesSoftware Division requires an experienced and self-motivated Leader. Thisposition will work in the "Common Development Platform Enablement" groupresponsible for a team whose primary focus is migrating development teams ontomodern SCM and CICD technologies. You will work closely with all otherengineering business segments to scope, plan, migrate and optimize the adoptionof a common development environment for all software engineeringfunctions. The program willsystematically move product development teams from source code managementsystems such as Perforce, Subversion, Bitbucket and many others into a GitLabbased environment. The goal is for eachproduct team to fully embrace modern SCM and CICD methods. Your work will have a direct impact on theday-to-day experience of thousands of engineers across DISW as solutions arecreated and adopted that automate operations, security, and compliance. As a Leader, you'll also gain exposure to strategiccloud development programs and DISW Cloud Platforms.

Under general supervision, demonstrates a thorough understanding of theactivities performed related to software development. Facilitates and/or participates in thedesign, development, and implementation of a migration strategy for eachproduct within every engineering business segment within DISW. In many cases to optimize adoption, majorcomponentization/refactoring will be necessary which will likely impact build, test,and deployment strategies as well as CICD integration. Likely each product development team willalso have secondary and tertiary integrations into different PM, collaboration,and reporting tools. Development and implementation of appropriate solutionsthat may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware technologiesand tools. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of changingpriorities.

What Will You Do?

  • Work with each business segment and each product within them to develop a comprehensive migration plan. The plan must be inclusive of all the work that needs to be done from the actual source migration to how they will utilize CICD. In some cases, there will be secondary and tertiary integrations that will need to be accounted for.
  • Work with the business segments and each product team to develop a source code repository structure that makes the most sense for them. Changes to the source code structure could have significant impacts on build and test activities but also on optimization of the day-to-day activities of each developer.
  • Identify opportunities where existing automation can be leveraged and facilitate its adoption across the product development teams and helps define new automation solutions that could become highly leveraged, partnering with other teams within Technical Operations to build the automated solutions.
  • Prioritize work and manage projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.
  • Responsible for uniform adoption of mandatory quality control and security protocols.
  • Provide the division, department, and business area management with timely and accurate information regarding the status and performance of the assigned project(s).
  • Build, leverage, and maintain effective alliances across technical and business community.
  • Interact with customers to achieve efficient, effective results.
  • Prioritize based on value to the business.

What Will Our IdealCandidate Have?

  • Experience utilizing multiple source code management systems
  • Experience with GitLab and modern CICD methodologies
  • Experience providing technical direction to project teams preferred
  • Experience running a large and complex program, including risk assessment, scoping, planning, coordinating, and communicating to all critical stakeholders
  • Experience driving transformation through influence and sometimes sheer determination
  • Advanced knowledge in following technical skills:
    • CICD
    • DevSecOps
    • Scripting and Automation

What is a Must Have?

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, required
  • Three years of experience as a software developer
  • Experience as a Leader

The salary range for this position is $121,400 to$218,500 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actualcompensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location aswell as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, andrelevant education/training.
