Position Overview

The ApplicationsSupport Engineer works directly with Siemens EDA's customers to help grow theadoption and use of Siemens's Solido software in their circuit design andverification flows. This position combines technical depth with strongcommunication skills and an appreciation for the business value delivered bySiemens EDA's products. The Applications Support Engineer manages multiplecustomer engagements concurrently and must be very effective at customerrelationships. This customer interface is not only at the engineering level,but first or second level management as well. The Applications Support Engineermust align closely with the account team to help them meet and exceed quotas asthey proactively manage customer accounts to success. This could includeaccount planning and developing solutions to customer problems, ultimatelyresulting in product revenue growth. Success involves working as a team withsales, marketing, and R&D organizations. No prior experience in thesemiconductor industry or as an Applications Support Engineer is required. Youwill receive on the job training to help you develop all the domain skills youneed.

Responsibilities

As an ApplicationsSupport Engineer, you work with account teams to drive adoption of SiemensEDA's Solido products. This includes, but is not limited to, the followingactivities:

• Work together with technology experts at major semiconductor companies tounderstand their challenges and help them use Siemens products to solve thosechallenges.

• Illustrate the value Siemens brings to customers by assisting them intheir evaluations of Siemens EDA's Solido software; developing and deliveringsoftware demonstrations and technical presentations; performing benchmarkevaluations for customers.

• Execute on pre-sales and post-sales technical activities, includingassessments of how company products meet customer needs, the preparation ofproduct specifications for development and installation of customizedapplications/solutions, and technical support for sales presentations andproduct demonstrations.

• Developing Technical content for Siemens EDA knowledgebase, tracking andupdating customer issues using defined Siemens EDA processes and tracking tools

• Drive business for Siemens, using technical expertise and workingdirectly with customers at the appropriate management level to establishcriteria for successful engagements.

• Assist technical teams, including Siemens R&D, to establish value forSiemens products and differentiate from the competition.

• Work closely with Siemens R&D to address customer feedback andrequests.

• Contribute towards the product technical sales plan with management andcommunicate frequently with peers and management on progress and accountstatus.

Job Qualifications

The successfulcandidate will have the following qualifications:

• Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science,physics, or similar field, with minimum 75% or equivalent average grade inundergraduate program.

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

• Ability to communicate and present complex technical concepts and makethem accessible to a variety of different audiences.

• Strong problem solving and debugging ability, as well as the ability toadapt and think on your feet.

• Strong working ability in a Linux environment.

• Flexible to work with customers in different time zones from around theworld.

• Availability and desire to travel as needed to the US, Asia, and/orEurope.

Bonus: Experience with one or more of the following: Electronic designautomation software, library characterization, static timing analysis, chipdesign, machine learning
