The role
The Credentialing Specialist participates as a member of the credentialing team and supports the onboarding of healthcare providers and acts as a subject matter expert to the internal operations teams.
Where you'll work
This is a hybrid role in Irving, Tx office and requires in-office collaboration.
What you will be doing:
- Demonstrates a professional, proactive work ethic, and establishes and maintains effective channels of communication with healthcare providers and internal team members.
- Provides operational support and assistance with credentials to internal customers and stakeholders under the guidance of the Credentialing Lead and in accordance with the Shiftkey's expectations.
- Maintains accuracy and efficiency in documentation for all credentialing functions and activities
- Validates credentials and licenses to ensure compliance to local, state, and federal regulations
- Partners with Credentialing Leads to process and adjudicate background checks
- Responds to internal and external customer inquiries with professionalism and anticipates potential issues and proactively acts to solve them
- Participates as a member of project teams and executes on assignments to support credentialing initiatives
- Monitors and manages operational and credentialing queues as assigned by region
- Proactively reports potential roadblocks, barriers, or other issues to credentialing leadership
- Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
What you'll need:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare, data entry, or related fields required
- 1+ years of healthcare compliance, credentialing, privileging, or quality experience preferred
- Experience working in a fast paced working environment
- Excellent time-management
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace Products
- Ability to work independently and multitask effectively
