Share Local Media, or SLM, is a rapidly growing startup reimagining the world of offline marketing for tech and e-commerce companies. We started as e-commerce marketers ourselves and launched SLM with a goal of turning direct mail into a high-performing, scalable channel for a digitally native client set. To do so, we’ve taken an inputs based-approach to the space, and re-engineered the channel from the ground up to make it easier to test, faster to execute, more measurable, and ultimately, more effective for e-commerce and tech clients of all types.

So what does SLM actually do? We’re a full-service direct mail agency, media program operator, and technology platform, serving some of your favorite e-commerce and tech brands (think Casper, Lyft, Grubhub, etc.). We live and breathe direct response marketing, and strive to delight clients with high-performing campaigns built around fast, data-driven client service, and premium, unique branding.

The Role

We are looking for a talented UI engineer to help us deliver the best user experience to customers of our SaaS platform. You will be responsible for building the client-side of our web application, working closely with product managers and full-stack engineers to deliver features and enhancements.

The ideal candidate will have broad experience with front-end technologies, an eye for design, and opinions about how CSS should be organized and packaged.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop user-friendly web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Optimize applications for maximum performance and compatibility across browsers and devices.
• Work with stakeholders to implement new product features and improve usability.
• Maintain a high-quality standard and consistency across our sites.
• Keep in touch with the latest trends in web development.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, or relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a front-end developer.
• Significant experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Excellent understanding of the entire web development process and experience shipping high-quality products from start to finish
• Understanding of responsive web design
• Good understanding of design principles, SEO, usability, and accessibility.
• Knowledge of browser testing, debugging.
• Experience developing and maintaining style guides and component libraries.
• Familiarity with design and prototyping tools including Figma, Sketch,
• Excellent analytical and multitasking skills with an ability to perform well in a dynamic environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with back-end technologies and frameworks such as Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with JavaScript libraries such as React and Stimulus.
• Experience with analytics tools such as Heap, GA, and GTM.
• War stories about the time you had to implement a design that works in IE6
