Controls Technician II
This position, under limited supervision is responsible for maintaining the health and integrity of automated equipment used in a food production setting. This will be done by conducting preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, component replacement and upgrades. Using a strong ability to interpret, troubleshoot, and modify existing controls programs. While performing this job, you will work in a team setting to perform root cause analysis, intermediate to advanced troubleshooting, process optimization, equipment/component upgrades and safety device integration.
Ability to read/modify blueprints and electrical schematics. Reference machine manuals as needed
Ability to review, troubleshoot, and modify PLC and HMI programs
Ability to clearly communicate and train team members on troubleshooting techniques
Work and troubleshoot electrical systems including low voltage controls (24VDC) and three phase power distribution (480VAC)
Support electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting
Perform preventative maintenance tasks (PM’s) as assigned on automation and process equipment
Create, modify, and close maintenance work orders utilizing CMMS systems (SAP)
Perform equipment adjustments using HMI’s, VFD’s and PLC programs
Support the operations of a food production line by means of servicing automated equipment and components to maintain asset availability
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with Schwan’s procedures, rules, and regulations (LOTO, Arc Flash, GMP’s, USDA) and ensuring all team members do the same
Exhibit effective communication and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of co-workers, management, and executive staff workers
Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
