For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $66,000 - $99,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Technical Quotations Specialist - Power Systems
This role combines technical expertise in quotation preparation with advanced customer support responsibilities. It also integrates tasks related to opportunity detection and workflow management.

Key Responsibilities:
You will collaborate with various teams, including Inside Sales, Quotation Specialists, Project Managers, and Account Managers, to create solutions that meet customer needs. Partner with Subject Matter Experts (Power Solution Architects) to develop bid strategies, proposals, and Bills of Material for Schneider Electric products. Stay updated on competitive offerings and share insights with team members to create counter strategies. Aim to exceed sales and profitability goals to support Schneider Electric Federal's growth objectives. Effectively communicate Schneider Electric's software, cloud analytics, and services in relation to customers' digital journeys.
- Quotation and Technical Support:
- Prepare quotation packages utilizing technical knowledge.
- Create bills of material for standard and simple projects.
- Interpret customer requirements and match products to specifications and drawings.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers to ensure technical compatibility and competitiveness of quotes, and that all project requirements are met.
- Understand sales engineers' quotation strategy to ensure a competitive output.
- Communicate contractual, technical, and commercial terms.
- Provide advanced technical support to customers and the sales channel on various industrial products and services.
- Resolve complex technical product questions, escalating when necessary.
- Provide complex product and solutions application support for various equipment such as panelboards, switchboards, switchgear, and motor control centers.
- Develop solutions to technical problems using the company's product portfolio.
- Manage post-order support by addressing technical questions and issues that arise after an order is placed (This is an integration of information from and to expand the role and is not stated explicitly in the sources).
- Customer Relationship and Support:
- Hand off quotation packages with comments on exceptions and built-in value for Sales Leaders to use in customer presentations.
- Collaborate during the order conversion process as needed.
- Manage relationships with customers to enhance their experience.
- Advocate for the customer, seeking suitable solutions or workarounds.
- Interface with internal functions like Quality, Engineering, and Product Management on the customer's behalf.
- Maintain accurate and complete case documentation using CRM software.
- Opportunity Management and Workflow:
- Route quote requests to the appropriate team members based on product type and project complexity.
- Detect new business opportunities using platforms like SAM.gov and GovWin.
- Hand off new opportunities to the quotation team with all necessary documentation and preliminary analysis.
- Continuous Improvement and Teamwork:
- Fully utilize new tools and technology to improve efficiency.
- Review knowledge documentation such as white papers, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes for complaint and knowledge management.
- Work with Engineering, Designers, and Technicians to develop recommendations to resolve problems.
- Aid the team with after-hours emergency support on a rotating on-call schedule.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- 2 + Years relevant customer facing technical experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business is preferred. A combination of education and/or relevant experience will be considered.
- Proven quotation experience in the electrical industry.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Knowledgeable low voltage electrical distribution and/or medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, controls, or energy management technologies. Familiarity with Square D Power Distribution Equipment such as busway, panelboards, transformers, switchboards, electrical components, services, and software preferred.
- Understanding of and ability to apply NEC equipment standards and local codes.
- Understanding of competitor products.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Self-motivated team player with good time management, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively use company software and collaborative tools.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
This role requires an individual who is capable of managing both pre- and post-sales activities, with the added responsibility of actively seeking new opportunities and ensuring a smooth workflow from opportunity identification to quotation preparation and order conversion.
