Team Lead Safety

We are looking for a Safety Team Lead to join our team at the Mount Juliet, TN Manufacturing Plant! You would be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment within a the facility by developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and procedures and best work practices. This role involves a combination of front-line safety leadership and support, technical expertise, and strong communication skills to promote an A+ safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive safety policies, procedures, training and best work practices tailored to each department within the plant.
- Conducting Safety Audits and Inspections: Regularly assessing the facility for hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations (like OSHA), and identifying areas for improvement.
- Providing Safety Training: Educating employees on safety procedures, the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response protocols.
- Promoting a Safety Culture: Fostering a positive safety culture through communication, leadership, and engagement with employees at all levels.
- Maintaining Safety Records: Keeping accurate records of training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Staying Updated on Regulations
- Collaborating with Management: Communicating with employees, management, agencies, and other stakeholders on safety-related matters cross functionally regarding safety initiatives, address safety concerns, and promote a positive safety culture.
- Managing PPE: Ensuring the proper maintenance, availability and discipline of necessary PPE at all times.
- Emergency Response: Supporting emergency response plans and coordinating with emergency personnel as needed.

Requirements
- Education:
- A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Engineering, or a related field is often preferred.
- 1 year relevant work experience required.
- Experience:
- 1 year relevant experience supporting safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment required.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. In essence, the Safety Coordinator is a vital role in ensuring the well-being of employees and the safe operation of a manufacturing facility.
- Ambiguous mindset: Safety initiatives may differ by department. What works for one, may not work for the other.
- Work is performed in a Manufacturing Environment, where p rolonged period(s) of standing is required for duration of shift .
- Requires ability to reach overhead, pull, push, bend, squat, and climb a ladder to perform work.
- Ability to lift 26 pounds occasionally or 22 pounds independently and repetitively.
