We are looking for a Strategy & Commercial Operations Manager to make a difference and be part of our digital transformation!

Overview:

In this role, you will be able to will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic and operational activities of the organization. This position will collaborate across functions and with Schneider Electric Singapore & Zone Leadership to formulate the commercial strategy. It entails coordinating with commercial, technical, finance, and leadership teams to adapt global strategy into market-specific commercial plans. Responsibilities include managing strategic initiatives and tailoring them to the local context, overseeing performance management and innovation, and executing operational tasks related to data analytics and sustainability programs.

Responsibiltiies:

Strategic Activities:
  • Market Intelligence & Business Intelligence : Empower smarter, more informed decisions by analyzing internal business data, taking into consideration economic trends, competitor behaviour & market insights. This includes current affairs on the Global, Regional or Local level and identifying or forecasting potential opportunities or risks to Schneider Electric Singapore and its partners. You shall make insightful recommendations to internal stakeholders on strategic and tactical actions.
  • Strategy Performance Management & Innovation : This involves analyzing the data to find gaps in the current strategy or operations that need to be addressed. It also includes identifying new opportunities or areas where the business can invest to achieve better results or gain a competitive advantage.
  • Be a Brainstorming Partner: Partner, Ideate and deploy strategic initiatives with internal business leaders and stakeholders - constructively challenging on "where to play" and "how to win". This includes competitor deep dive analysis and fight back plans.

Operational Activities:
  • Own/Contribute and align with global and zone teams on commercial operation activities (e.g. AMSP, QBR, AMR, QCI etc).
    • Annual Market Review (AMR): Conduct market lookbacks with Business VPs, Marketing and Segment Leader on Schneider competitiveness - crystalizing insights and recommendations for the year ahead
    • Monthly Pipeline Review (MPR) & Quarterly Business Review (QBR): Consolidate data and insights monthly/quarterly on upcoming pipelines and short-mid term business performance to enable business decisions, or bring focus to the commercial & leadership teams.
    • Annual & Marketing Sales Plan (AMSP): Oversee and manage the campaign, coordinating cross-functional strategies with Lines of Business (LOBs), Marketing teams (Offer, Channel, Communication), Sustainability, and Business leaders. Ensure alignment among commercial teams on ambitions and initiatives to move Schneider towards a common goal. Articulate and present a cohesive & sound strategic narrative to the country council.
  • Data-Driven Operations: Enhance and champion data-driven decision making for commercial excellence. Consistent collection of data related to commercial operations providing a foundation for informed decision-making through in-depth data analysis, unlocking valuable insights to drive efficiency, optimize processes and enhance overall performance. This may include utilizing tools(visualization, databases, web-crawlers etc.) to find new ways to improve company business intelligence.
  • Customer Centric: Empower commercial and pre-sales teams with essential skills and/or tools to serve customers. Effective people development, ensuring that SESG sales force possesses the right skills and utilize the appropriate tools to excel in their roles.

Position Stakeholders:

Country and Zone Level Business Development Teams, Country/Cluster/Zone Presidents, Business Vice Presidents, Commercial Leaders, Segment Leaders, External consultancy suppliers, possible partnership targets and other key stakeholders, and others depending on the initiative requirements.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in strategy development or strategic initiative deployment, or business development capacity.
  • Understand of Schneider Electric internal and external Ecosystem (customer personas, value chain and GTM is an advantage)
  • Curiosity and learning agility: understanding and staying up to date with market and industry trends, new marketing technologies, present and emerging customer behavior.
  • Strong research, numerical and analytical skills: solid financial grounding and ability to deliver a consolidated view of the market and competitive environment, and to translate analytics into business opportunities
  • Storytelling skills: ability to deliver presentations with ease and engage audiences
  • Demonstrate business acumen with a track record of developing and driving strategic or growth initiatives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (clarity, influence, active listening)
  • Teamwork mindset and stakeholder management (able to build relationships and effectively, work as team and empathy to address concerns of team members, customers/stakeholders)
  • Strategic thinking with strong understanding of business strategy, trends and competition
  • Strong analytical mindset, organizational and project management skills
  • Proactively & consistently presents new ideas, improvements, and recommendations
  • Relating through emotional intelligence (self/relationship awareness)
  • Ability to adapt, make decisions with limited data or info and to resolve problems under pressure
  • Time management: Prioritization (juggling multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities while staying focused on key objectives) and Efficiency (working productively within tight timeframes without sacrificing quality)
  • Attention to detail.
  • Financial literacy and understanding to support the recommendations and decisions.
  • Resilience handling rejection/failure while maintain focus and enthusiasm
  • Experience in Business Intelligence and Strategy is preferred.
