Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for an experienced and visionary Senior Product Manager to lead the development and evolution of our Building Management System (BMS) software. Shape the future of end-user experience in efficiently and effectively managing building operations, impacting over 100,000+ facility management professionals across diverse sectors such as commercial, healthcare, life-science, data centers, etc. Lead the identification of unmet user needs and define transformative, value-driven features that address critical operational challenges. Partner with R&D to design and deliver innovative, high-impact solutions, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional value. Drive strategic go-to-market initiatives, foster adoption through compelling content, and continuously refine the product based on performance insights. Champion innovation, leverage emerging technologies, and engage a progressive user community to establish thought leadership and redefine the standards of facility management excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
User-Centric Product Development
- Unmet Needs Research: Conduct in-depth research to identify and understand the unmet needs of end-users across various building segments (e.g., commercial, healthcare, data-centers, etc.) during the operations phase.
- Feature Definition: Define product features and functionality that address user pain points and deliver a compelling value proposition to improve efficiency and effectiveness in managing building operations.
- Business Case Development: Build and validate business cases for new features, quantifying their potential impact on user satisfaction, adoption, and business growth.
- Product Specifications: Translate research insights and business requirements into clear product specifications, user stories, and development priorities.
- Feature Development: Partner with R&D and engineering teams to design and develop innovative features that align with user needs and business objectives.
- Delivery Management: Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features by managing priorities, timelines, and resources effectively, phasing a multi-year evolution.
- Promotional Content Development: Collaborate with marketing and training teams to create promotional content, user guides, and training materials that drive product adoption and engagement.
- Launch Planning: Define and execute go-to-market strategies for new features and releases, ensuring alignment with sales and marketing efforts.
- Post-Launch Monitoring: Monitor product performance post-launch, gathering feedback and iterating to improve user satisfaction and market fit.
- Emerging Technologies: Embed innovation into the product by leveraging emerging technologies of conversational AI, bid-data analytics, and user feedback to create differentiated solutions.
- Competitive Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends and solution offerings to ensure the product remains differentiated and forward-thinking.
- User Community Animation: Develop and execute a strategy to engage and animate a community of progressive users, including facility leaders, to foster feedback and socialize best practices.
- Thought Leadership: Act as a thought leader in the BMS space, representing the company at industry events, webinars, and forums.
Desired skills and competencies
- 7+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on software solutions and systems business
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in the building management or industrial automation
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can identify and seize new opportunities.
- Proven track record of delivering industry leading user-centric products that drive adoption and business value
- Experience working with R&D and engineering teams to design and develop innovative features
- Expert in user research methodologies and tools, build user community and engagement strategies
- Proven ability to work within large organizations, collaborating across teams & functions to achieve shared goals
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
