Senior Hardware Engineer

Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior R&D Hardware Design Engineer to join our R&D team based in Bangalore, India location.

The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and validation of electronic hardware for intelligent devices in commercial building HVAC systems. This senior role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and cross-functional leadership to deliver innovative, energy-efficient, and standards-compliant solutions for modern building automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of analog and digital circuits for intelligent devices, including environmental, pressure, and gas sensing applications.
  • Drive sensor selection and integration strategies (e.g., position, temperature, pressure, air quality) with a focus on performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Oversee schematic development, PCB layout, and BOM creation using industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadence).
  • Define and execute comprehensive hardware validation plans, including EMI/EMC, safety, and HVAC compliance testing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across hardware development projects.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to define scalable product architectures.
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments (DFMEA/PFMEA), and ensure design robustness throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support prototype development, pilot builds, and transition to mass production with manufacturing partners.
  • Author and review technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and compliance reports.

Core Required Skills
  • Deep understanding of sensing technologies and their application in building HVAC systems.
  • Advanced experience with sensor interfacing (analog, I2C, SPI, etc.) and low-power design techniques.
  • Proven track record in hardware debugging, validation, and compliance testing.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics and system-level design considerations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing technical deliverables. 

Preferred Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with sensor calibration, environmental testing, and reliability analysis.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, COMSOL) and advanced PCB design software.
  • Experience with full product lifecycle development, from concept to production.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in hardware design for embedded systems, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex hardware projects in regulated environments.
