Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) senior engineer

What will you do?
Lead the deployment, configuration, and commissioning of Schneider Electric Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) within the ADMS DCC Project. This role involves advanced integration with SCADA systems, field diagnostics, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable and secure data acquisition and control across the MV network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and commission Schneider Electric RTUs at substations and field locations.
- Integrate RTUs (Different brands) with SCADA systems using protocols such as IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, Modbus, TCP/IP, etc.
- Conduct I/O mapping, signal testing, and communication validation with control centers.
- Collaborate with protection, telecom, and automation teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of RTU hardware, firmware, and communication issues.
- Supervise subcontractors during installation and ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and end-to-end commissioning.
- Maintain detailed documentation including configuration files, test reports, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and data integrity standards.
- Provide technical training and support to field engineers and operations teams.
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- Experience with hybrid RTU systems (SE products T300, Saitel DP - DR, etc.), and ADMS integration.
- Knowledge of IEC 105 & 61850, NTP synchronization, and redundant communication setups.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, network diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in field conditions and manage multiple site activities.
- Proficient in configuration tools such as EcoStruxure Control Expert or equivalent.
Work Environment:
- Site-based role with frequent travel to MV substations and remote locations.
- Fast-paced, collaborative, and technically intensive project environment.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, Electronics, or Control Systems Engineering.
- 10 years, minimum 5 years of experience in RTU deployment and SCADA integration, with hands-on experience on Schneider Electric RTU and other brands.
- Strong understanding of substation automation, telemetry systems, and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with SCADA platforms, network architectures, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Fluent in English.
