Based in Lattes (34), close to Montpellier, you will join Schneider Electric's Digital Energy business. It is delivering products and solutions to digitize the High / Medium Voltage electric distribution for better Energy Management, helping all customer achieve decarbonization, resiliency & efficiency. We do this by developing protection, control & automation systems, solutions and tools for the electrical grid.
Within Digital Power, the R&D teams (~210 people in France) are working following Agile methodologies. Because our business is growing, we want to reinforce our R&D management team with a new Chapter Leader.
You will lead several teams of ~20 engineers (internal and external resources), developing embedded firmware of our connected products or software for products interfaces.

This R&D effort is driven within an international environment with strong collaboration required with different teams.
The site of Lattes, close to Montpellier (34) is a strategic site for Digital Energy activities, regrouping in one place R&D, Project execution and Center of Excellence teams.
Your role :
You will allocate your team resources according to the projects roadmap priorities, develop people competencies & engagement and drive performance to develop best-in-class systems.
Your missions :
- Allocate / identify the internal & external resources allowing to reach the teams objectives
- Build high-performance teams with continuous coaching, feedback, and on the job training
- Make sure top down and bottom-up communication is well organized. Ensure team engagement is at excellent level to drive high quality delivery
- Drive a culture of customer centric, innovation, R&D excellence and agility
- Drive platforming, reusing and efficiency improvement
- Manage and control the budget (CAPEX & OPEX) of the teams in compliance with the Product Owner orientations / Board Of Change requests / R&D situation
- Drive and nurture potential inventions and support intellectual property creation
- Drive and sponsor cooperation with other R&D teams, suppliers or partners for technology deployment in alignment with offers management
- Contribute to the R&D digital transformation and to the excellence execution initiatives
- Ensure knowledge development, capitalization and promotion
Your profile :
- Master degree in Electrical engineering or Computer Systems
- Minimum 5 years of embedded software development experience on system offers or intelligent electronic devices
- OR 10 years of application development or deployment experience (HW/SW dev., Electrical Power system development, Cybersecurity, Functional safety design,...)
- And minimum 5 years team and people management experience (functional or hierarchy)
Your skills :
- Strong system delivery, system design and V&V experience (System Engineering with MBSE, MBD and MBT)
- Continuous integration and continuous delivery (DevSecOps)
- Agile delivery practical experience (Scrum, Safe, Kanban,...)
- People manager skills and ability to coach team member in both soft and hard skills
- Impact player role for transformation, result-oriented
- Fluent English (oral and written) is a must (C1 level). French would be highly appreciated.
- Domain knowledge on Electrical Power system engineering would be a plus
