Product Owner for HMI Communication Software

What will you do?

As a Product Owner for our HMI communication software, you will be at the heart of driving innovation and usability for our industrial automation solutions. Your impactful responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and defining specifications and requirements for HMI software.
  • Creating detailed specification documents and intuitive storyboards.
  • Collaborating closely with development teams to guide and support the software development process.
  • Understanding user needs and translating them into a clear product vision.
  • Managing and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Reviewing customer inquiries and coordinating responses with developers.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?

To excel in this role, you'll bring:
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry, especially with factory equipment.
  • Hands-on experience as a user, support engineer, or developer of factory systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in English; Japanese language skills are a plus.
  • A user-centric mindset and ability to translate technical needs into actionable development goals.

  • You will report to the R&D Connectivity & Solutions, Technical manager, based in Osaka, Japan.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

Required:
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Background in using or supporting factory equipment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of HMI design or development.
  • Experience in product management and Agile methodologies.
  • Japanese language proficiency.
  • Programming experience in C, C++, and C#.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux application development.
