Job Summary
The Product Application Engineer (PAE) for Power Products plays a critical role in supporting pre-sales activities, designing tailored solutions, and ensuring technical excellence across Schneider Electric's low-voltage power product portfolio. This includes ACBs, MCCBs, busways, ATS, switchgear, and motor control systems. The PAE collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver compliant, efficient, and innovative power distribution solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Sales Technical Support
- Provide expert technical consultation to sales teams, panel builders, contractors, consultants, and end-users.
- Recommend optimal product selections based on project specifications, load profiles, and application standards.
- Assist in tender analysis, technical clarifications, and bill of materials (BOM) preparation.
- Design customized LV distribution solutions involving ACBs, MCCBs, busways, ATS, and switchgear.
- Develop architecture layouts for systems like BlokSeT and motor control centers.
- Perform short circuit calculations, selectivity studies, and thermal sizing.
- Select and size contactors and overload relays for motor applications.
- Conduct technical training and product demonstrations for internal teams, partners, and customers.
- Develop and deliver structured presentations to facilitate knowledge transfer and product understanding.
- Troubleshoot application issues during design, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Provide on-site support for testing and diagnostics of ACBs (Micrologic), MCCBs (Compact NSX/NSXm), ATS (WATSN), and Tesys motor starters.
- Perform root cause analysis and site investigations when required.
- Ensure all solutions comply with IEC standards, local codes, and Schneider Electric quality requirements.
- Validate type-tested solutions, including BlokSeT compliance to IEC 61439-1/2.
- Collaborate with marketing, R&D, tendering, execution, and quality teams to align product offerings with market needs.
- Support digital tools like EcoStruxure Power Design - Ecodial and coordinate with software/firmware teams for integration with SCADA/BMS systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in power distribution systems, product application, or system design.
- Strong understanding of IEC standards and electrical system design principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
