Role: Lead, Microsoft Application Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Development Specialist for implementation and continuous improvement of Microsoft Search across our enterprise ecosystem. This role will also play a key part in integrating structured and unstructured data sources and enabling intelligent search experiences through Microsoft Copilot Chat and Copilot Studio.
Key responsibilities
- • Microsoft Search Implementation & Optimization
- Design, configure, and deploy Microsoft Search across Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
- Customize search verticals, result types, and connectors to meet business needs
- Monitor and improve search relevance, performance, and user experience
- Data Integration & Knowledge Management

- Integrate standard (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive) and non-standard (e.g., legacy systems, third-party platforms) data sources
- Implement Microsoft Graph connectors and APIs for custom data integration
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to design and implement Copilot Chat experiences
- Develop custom Copilot plugins and scenarios using Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Ensure search and Copilot implementations adhere to Schneider Electric's data governance, security, and compliance standards
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage data access and privacy
Skills and experience
Education and experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including SharePoint, Teams, and primarily Microsoft Search
Must have skills
- Microsoft 365 & Search Ecosystem
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Search architecture, schema, and customization
- Experience configuring search verticals, result types, custom refiners, and bookmarks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Graph API, Microsoft Search API, and Graph Connectors
- Proficiency in KQL (Keyword Query Language) for search tuning
- Experience with search analytics, user behaviour tracking, and relevance tuning
- Copilot & Power Platform
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Chat and Copilot Studio
- Ability to design and deploy custom Copilot plugins, Power Automate flows, and Power Apps
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and semantic search concepts
- Data Integration & Development
- Development experience using PowerShell, Node JS or Python
- Knowledge of AI/ML-based ranking models and natural language processing (NLP) is a plus
Good to Have skills.
- Security, Compliance & Governance
- Understanding of Microsoft Purview, Information Protection, and role-based access control (RBAC)
- Experience implementing data classification, retention policies, and compliance boundaries
