Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly experienced IT Asset Manager to lead the end-to-end lifecycle management of IT assets across our India operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring asset visibility, cost optimization, compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of technical expertise, process discipline, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. IT Asset Lifecycle Management
  • Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets: procurement, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and retirement.
  • Define and enforce asset lifecycle policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing and hardware warranty terms.
  1. Asset Inventory & Control
  • Maintain a centralized, real-time inventory of all IT assets across India.
  • Implement and manage asset tagging, tracking, and reconciliation processes.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure data accuracy in the ITAM system.
  1. Forecasting & Budgeting
  • Collaborate with finance and business units to forecast asset needs and plan annual budgets.
  • Track asset depreciation and provide insights for capital planning.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through asset reuse and optimization.
  1. IT Scrap & Disposal Management
  • Lead the secure and compliant disposal of obsolete IT assets.
  • Coordinate with certified e-waste vendors and maintain disposal records.
  • Ensure data sanitization and environmental compliance.
  1. Vendor Management
  • Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and disposal services.
  • Negotiate pricing, SLAs, and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and maintain a preferred vendor list.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with workstream leaders, project managers, and business units to align asset provisioning with project timelines.
  • Act as a liaison between IT, procurement, finance, and compliance teams.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes with timely asset allocation and recovery.
  1. Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify opportunities to automate asset tracking and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in asset management processes.
  • Implement best practices aligned with ITIL and ISO standards.
  1. Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and support internal/external audit processes.
  • Mitigate risks related to asset loss, theft, or misuse.
  1. Reporting & Analytics
  • Generate regular reports on asset utilization, aging, compliance, and financial impact.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain dashboards for real-time visibility into asset health and inventory.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of ITAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Axonius).
  • Experience managing large-scale IT inventories across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and vendor negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices is a plus.

Preferred Certifications:
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or equivalent
