We are seeking a Junior Commodity Analyst to join our Global Research & Analytics (GRA) team in Melbourne CBD. Our Australia based GRA team works in conjunction with our wider global team to provide insights and research into energy markets around the world and help drive decision making to maximise outcomes for our clients. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity to build deep expertise in energy markets while contributing to impactful sustainability outcomes for our clients .

What You'll Do

  • Support the GRA team in delivering client-facing insights including market analyses, forecasts, and ad-hoc research projects
  • Become a subject matter expert in Australian electricity and gas markets, providing strategic insights on market drivers, risks, and trends
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients with clarity and confidence
  • Work with large datasets and contribute to market modelling using Python
  • Monitor and interpret internal and external energy market data sources to inform client strategies


What We're Looking For

  • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or business
  • Exposure to statistical methods, forecasting models, and ideally some experience in the energy sector
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modelling
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, both in writing and in presentations
  • A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and a passion for sustainability
