Job Summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a highly experienced and technically accomplished Test Expert tolead our test automation initiatives for embedded systems and power products. In this role, you will architect and evolve automation frameworks, define test strategies, and ensure the quality and reliability of our next-generation energy management solutions. You will also mentor teams, influence product testability, and drive innovation in test methodologies and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Automation Architecture:
    Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks using Python, Robot Framework, pytest, and other modern tools.
  • Strategic Test Planning & Execution:
    Define and implement test strategies across unit, integration, system, and regression levels. Ensure alignment with product requirements, risk assessments, and release goals.
  • Leadership & Mentorship:
    Mentor junior and senior test engineers, promote best practices, and foster a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Process & Toolchain Optimization:
    Champion CI/CD integration, test-driven development (TDD), and automation-first approaches. Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Test Case Design & Coverage:
    Develop high-quality, maintainable test cases ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional, performance, regression, and edge-case scenarios.
  • Defect Analysis & Resolution:
    Lead root cause analysis of complex issues across firmware, hardware, and communication layers. Provide actionable insights through detailed test reports.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with firmware, hardware, cloud, and product teams to ensure testability, traceability, and high-quality product releases.
  • Framework & Tooling Enhancements:
    Continuously improve automation frameworks for efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. Evaluate and adopt emerging tools and technologies.
    • Required Qualifications
      • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
      • 10+ years of experience in embedded systems testing with a strong focus on automation.
      • Proven expertise in Python and test automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework, pytest).
      • Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jama Connect, Jira) and version control (e.g., Git).
      • Strong analytical and debugging skills across hardware/software interfaces.
      • Demonstrated leadership in test strategy, automation design, and team mentoring.
      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience in power systems, motor control, or protection relay testing.
      • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols: Modbus, CAN, etc.
      • Experience with hardware interface scripting, CAN sniffers, or industrial controllers.
      • Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety testing for industrial products.
      • Exposure to cybersecurity testing, penetration testing coordination, or IEC 62443.
      • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
