We are looking for a leader to grow, motivate, and manage a distributed team of 10 designers within the Digital Power business.
You will report directly to the R&D Leader of Digital Power with a dotted line to the global design leader for Digital Energy.
The role will bridge our Digital Energy mission of "helping customers achieve decarbonization, resiliency & efficiency through digitalization of buildings and power" with our UX Design mission to "create consistent, enjoyable, and impactful experiences".
The Digital Power Design Chapter Leader will excel in bringing these aspects together, infusing design culture into the company, and scaling through systems and collaboration. This is design work with a purpose.

Your role :
You and your team will apply and evolve Schneider's global UX standards to address both local and global user needs in building and energy management. Through user research initiatives, you will deeply understand the needs and behaviors of digital power users across different markets, particularly facility managers, power experts, and energy management professionals.
You will build and mentor a UX team with specialties across our design career matrix while fostering relationships and collaboration with other functions and design groups.
Your main responsibilities :
- User-centered design. Apply different tools and methodologies required for the problem, timing, and context. Be transparent and guide colleagues in product management and engineering across stages of the design process.
- Facilitation and co-design. Prepare and lead workshops to align teams and converge on a common product and service vision. Include others and motivate with curiosity, a constant interest to learn, and default to doing.
- Culture and advocacy. Be a representative of design and user advocate within Schneider Electric. Promote our digital ecosystem, strengthen the brand, and form a unified experience.
- Systems thinking. Expand and adjust perspectives to understand the problem space. Empathize with users and colleagues and appreciate a diversity of inputs.
- Data driven. Know how to use and analyze qualitative and quantitative data in decision making. Design interactions that empower users with information and collect data as a natural part of the experience.
- Global Team Management. Plan resources for the entire Digital Power portfolio from both skill set and budget standpoints. Identify gaps and forecasted needs in alignment with transverse resources or employee career opportunities in the broader Digital Energy and Design organizations.
- People management. Ensure team members' competency and career development is mapped and executed against Schneider's design career matrix. Build a highly engaged and highly efficient team.
Your profile :
- Master's degree in a design field, human-computer interaction, fine arts, or equivalent experience.
- +15 years of design experience and +5 years leading teams
- Background in complex B2B software products, preferable in industry.
- Examples of regular collaboration across business functions.
- Empathetic to external users and internal team members across functions.
- Equates team member growth, learning, and success as your own.
- Comfortable working across multiple time zones with teams in Asia, EU, and NAM.
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates user-centered design approach & process, systems thinking, emphatic storytelling, and definition of design work through development.
- Exceptional abilities to communicate complex information in written, visual, and verbal forms.
- Demonstrated abilities successfully leading a global team.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Travel: 10-20%
