We are seeking a proactive and experienced Deputy Data Protection Officer in the safeguarding of stakeholder data while assuring compliance with data privacy and protection regulations. The Deputy Data Protection Officer will work with, and on behalf of, the Group Data Protection Office as we spearhead our Data Protection Strategy and enhance our management of sensitive information across the organization.

What will you do?
As part of the management team of the Group Data Protection Office, and working in tandem with our Group Data Protection Officer, assure the following responsibilities are fulfilled
- Co-operation with supervisory authorities and regulators on Data Protection on behalf of the company
- Be the point of contact for all stakeholders for Individual Rights Requests and Data Subject Requests
- Secure the operationalisation of the Binding Corporate Rules and Data Privacy Policies in the company
- Develop and revise internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Ensure other company policies are compliant with data protection standards & regulations
- Lead the implementation and management of the company's Data Protection strategy; evaluate and enhance the existing Data Protection Framework, identifying and mitigating risks
- Contribute to active breaches, as a consultatory advisor to Group Legal Counsel, while securing the companys adherence to Data Protection regulations throughout the breach
- Working with our Internal Audit function, assure regular audits and risk assessments, helping mature the organisation in Data Protection operationalisation
- Utilise knowledge and experience of common responsibilities (Individual Rights Requests, Data Breaches, Compliance Monitoring, Training) to enable the digitisation of the Data Protection Office activities
- Govern the maintenance of comprehensive records of all data processing activities and stakeholder consent within the company.
- Continuously strive for increased maturity across the organisation in Data Privacy & Protection by
- Design & deliver scaled, digital training for employees involved in data handling or processing on data protection practices
- Advising leadership on all matters related to data protection, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization
- Driving the virtual, global community of Data Protection leaders at Country Ops, Function and Business level, assuring the right level of engagement, skill and application within each assignees scope of responsibility.
- Maintaining updated insights on changes in data protection laws and regulations at global and local level.
- Contribute to the scaled design of our Data Protection Office, balancing strategic, tactical and operational elements
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with 10 years' experience in data protection compliance or a related field
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Professional certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT)
- In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and practices
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Ability to transform manual activities to scaled, digitised processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively
- Strong influence and convince capabilities, to Exec level of an organisation
- Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality
- Familiarity with Digital and information security best practices
- Desire to continuously expand insights in the field, learning from peers in the Industry through association membership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address data protection issues
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to build positive relationships across departments and with external stakeholders.
