Data Analyst - Energy Cost Analytics

Our Energy and Sustainability Services team partners with organizations to optimize energy use, reduce environmental impact, and uncover data-driven insights that lead to smarter decisions. Based in Melbourne, we're looking for a Data Analyst to join our Energy Cost Analytics team; a collaborative, high-performing group that manages energy contract compliance and evaluates supplier performance across global markets. In this role, you'll dive deep into energy data, build powerful Excel models, and help clients understand their energy spend, all while learning from some of the best in the industry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Validate third-party energy invoices against contract terms and resolve discrepancies directly with suppliers
  • Build and maintain advanced Excel models to support invoice validation, budgeting, and contract analysis
  • Monitor energy contract compliance and assess supplier performance using internal tools and databases
  • Analyse energy usage and market data to produce accurate cost forecasts and client budgets
  • Deliver clear, timely reporting and insights to clients, ensuring high data accuracy and responsiveness
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement and automation initiatives


What You'll Bring

  • A university degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of experience working with high volumes of data or financial analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills; you're confident with formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong grasp of numbers
  • Exposure to energy markets is a plus, but not a must - we'll help you get up to speed
