About the position:

This is an opportunity for a dynamic and strategic Business Development Managers to join our Industrial Automation business in the Pacific Region to lead and drive revenue growth for EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE)-a cutting-edge, software-defined industrial automation solution.

This role will focus on expanding market awareness, influencing key decision-makers, and driving adoption among system integrators, OEMs, and industrial end-users with the ultimate kpi of increasing sales growth in EAE.

Reporting to the Pacific Zone EAE Leader, the role requires a strong sales hunter and strategic thinker with deep expertise in industrial automation, who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to shape the future of industrial automation. The role is responsible for building and converting pipeline for EAE, collaborating with broader sales teams and the Centre of Excellence (CoE) team to drive and secure large-scale opportunities.

This role will require someone who is comfortable travelling (30-50% of time) and presenting in front of clients and partners to support them in undertaking and adopting EAE. A vehicle or car allowance will be provided to support as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales & Revenue Growth - Direct Selling
    • Drive commercial success through consultative and prescriptive selling techniques.
    • Identify, qualify, and nurture high-potential business opportunities for EAE
    • Collaborate with channel partners to develop joint go-to-market strategies.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing structures, and long-term agreements to maximize revenue potential.
  • Market Development and Strategy Execution
    • Develop and execute a sales strategy that positions EAE as a disruptive open automation platform in your region.
    • Align business development initiatives with global trends in industrial automation, Industry 4.0, and software-driven control systems.
    • Analyze customer pain points, competitor offerings, and emerging market trends to refine the value proposition and influence the adoption of EAE
  • Stakeholder Engagement, Influence and Prescription
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with engineering, operations, IT, and executive decision-makers to promote EAE adoption at the customer.
    • Engage with C-level executives, plant managers, automation engineers, and IT-OT leaders to drive digital transformation initiatives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration and Leadership
    • Work closely with the EAE COE (Center of excellence), product management, marketing, and customer success teams to align solutions with market needs.
    • Provide direct customer feedback to product development teams to enhance EAE's features, usability, and scalability.
    • Coordinate with pre-sales specialists, solution specialists, and application specialists to develop and present tailored automation solutions to the customer using EAE.
    • Be the subject matter expert on EAE to the customer.

About you:

You love being a sales hunter, prospecting for new business and doing whatever it takes to drive the adoption of new technology so you can deliver value for your customers.

You're a highly motivated and results-driven professional with deep expertise in industrial automation, digital transformation, and Industry 4.0.

You will have a strong background in business development, technical sales, and solution consulting, with a proven ability to influence key decision-makers and drive the adoption new technology.

You will be a strategic thinker who can work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a matrix organization.

You will be recognized as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to both internal teams and external customers and partners as they implement EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE).

Key skills and experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in consultative, technical solution sales is essential
  • A deep understanding of Industrial Automation and applications is essential including e xperience with industrial control systems (ICS), PLC/SCADA, DCS, edge computing.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in launching and scaling new products, offers, and solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing impactful business development strategies that drive growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen, communication, and stakeholder management skills, from the shop floor to the C-suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of how Industrial segments and their associated applications work is key to this role. (WWW, MMM, CPG, E&C, Infrastructure, C&SP is advantageous.
