Associate SAP Project Manager-Agile

1 month ago Nashville, TN

We're seeking an SAP professional who is passionate about leveraging their expertise to transition into a Project Management role. Internally, this role will be titled Scrum Master. At Schneider Electric, our Scrum Masters go beyond traditional Agile facilitation-they not only uphold Agile best practices but also drive SAP projects with the accountability and leadership of a Project Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to move away from a hands-on SAP position and step into a leadership role within Schneider Electric's North America Market (NAM) digital transformation journey. You will join an SAP/ERP Transformation team, working closely with business stakeholders and Program Management teams, while applying Agile and SAFe principles to deliver iterative releases of our digital platforms. This position is based in Nashville, TN.
Areas of Responsibility

  • The Scrum Master supports and champions Agile / SAFe and guides the team on being self-organized.
  • Drive the daily development progress, conduct daily Stand-ups, identify and help remove roadblocks.
  • Ensure User Stories are detailed, working with the Product Owner and Business Analysts to manage and prioritize the backlog regularly.
  • Responsible for helping the team break down and detail roadmap items into Sprint deliverable User Stories at the team level, facilitate discussions, decision making, and manage conflict resolution.
  • Oversee and coordinate functional testing of SAP workflows to ensure system accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
  • Serve as the local lead for testing activities, partnering with offshore testers to validate functionality and resolve issues before deployment.
  • Negotiate with Development and QA, ensuring what is developed can be tested and ultimately delivered within the Sprint.
  • Assist in triaging critical bugs that could impact the Sprint.
  • Be the organizational leader for the team, providing support to the team so they can be fully functional and productive, removing impediments or shielding team from interference.
  • Support the release train engineer and collaborate with other scrum leads to identify and resolve systemic barriers as well as opportunities leveraging successes.
  • The Scrum Master is required to increase team efficiency, motivate the team(s), argue for changes that will ensure quality and timeliness, and ensure the Definition of Done (DoD) is being followed to deliver the most value to the customer.
Experience & Requirements
  • SAP Expertise: 5 years of experience in SAP (functional or technical) is ideal.
  • This is not a hands-on SAP role. The ideal candidate is looking to transition into Project Management and leverage their SAP background to lead transformation initiatives.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) required; MBA is a plus.
  • Understanding of business processes in supply chain, finance, customer support, or similar functions.
  • Experience in backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition is essential.
  • The Scrum Master will have between 1 and 3 teams to lead and will participate in the Agile Release Train Scrum of Scrums.
  • Must have excellent skills in communication, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency.
  • SAFe certifications preferred.
  • Experience managing SAP enhancement or deployment projects is highly desired.
