Application Engineer II
The RPA and System Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining robotic process automation and software solutions that improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and user experience across the organization.
This role focuses primarily on RPA and software development, translating business requirements into scalable digital solutions, automating repetitive tasks, and enhancing systems that support operational excellence and transformation priorities.
This role acts as a specialized technical expert within the Transformation team, partnering with process owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and well-documented solutions. The position contributes directly to business value by combining application engineering, automation delivery, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
What will you do?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
RPA Development & Automation Delivery
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support robotic process automation solutions that reduce manual effort, improve controls, and increase process efficiency across targeted business activities.
- Analyze existing processes, identify automation opportunities, assess feasibility, and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions for attended, unattended, or hybrid automations.

- Implement new application features and system enhancements that improve user experience, operational effectiveness, and solution reliability.
- Perform debugging, defect fixing, technical analysis, and root cause investigation to resolve issues and maintain application performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and digital teams to clarify business requirements and translate them into maintainable, efficient, and scalable software solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and technical validation to ensure high-quality standards in development and implementation.

- Provide ongoing support for deployed bots and applications, including issue triage, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and enhancement implementation.
- Monitor bot execution results, exception trends, and application health to proactively identify issues and recommend preventive or corrective actions.
- Support release planning, deployment activities, and change management practices to ensure smooth implementation with minimal business disruption.
- Track and report development and automation performance metrics such as bot success rate, incident volume, defect trends, turnaround time, and enhancement backlog status.
- Partner with process owners and end users to identify continuous improvement opportunities and optimize digital solutions based on operational feedback.
- Ensure all delivered solutions comply with defined security, documentation, quality, and compliance standards.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Support digital transformation initiatives by identifying opportunities for process simplification, automation expansion, and system optimization.
- Assist in technical assessments, proof of concepts, and solution design workshops for new digital opportunities and evolving business requirements.
- Prepare user guides, release notes, technical handover documents, and knowledge articles to support successful adoption and sustainment of delivered solutions.
- Contribute to standards, templates, governance, and best practices for application development and RPA lifecycle management.
- Support audit requests, compliance checks, and documentation reviews related to system changes, automation assets, and access controls.
- Share knowledge with team members and users on basic troubleshooting, solution usage, and good automation practices when needed.

Who would be successful?
EDUCATION-MINIMUM REQUIRED LEVEL:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certification or formal training in RPA, software development, scripting, or automation technologies is an advantage.
EXPERIENCE-MINIMUM REQUIRED:
- 3-5 years of experience in application development, software engineering, RPA development, automation delivery, or digital solution implementation roles.
- Hands-on experience in developing, testing, deploying, and supporting robotic process automation solutions in a business environment.
- Experience in designing or enhancing software applications, scripts, workflows, reports, or system integrations.
- Experience working with stakeholders to understand requirements, validate solutions, and support delivery of digital improvements.
- Exposure to end-to-end software development lifecycle practices including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
