With engineers based in multiple locations around the world (Manchester, Houston, Singapore, Madrid, etc.) and more than 30 years of experience, the Advanced Process Control team is focused on helping our customers achieve the best performance from their processes. We have a proven history of state-of-the-art technology to provide solutions that are capable of increasing process potential. The industries covered span across various sectors from oil refining and petrochemicals to power generation, pulp and paper, water, or food and beverage.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the execution of Advanced Process Control and Optimization projects using our EcoStruxure Advanced Process Control™ technology. Typical projects will be of 3-6 months duration with up to 30% spent on site (typically in Europe but may also be global). The junior engineer will work under the guidance of senior colleagues.
  • Participate in technology development activities, including identifying and suggesting potential improvements.
  • Engage in the wider Control Engineering and Optimization community by representing the company at technical conferences, presenting technical papers, and increasing personal and company profile within this sphere.
  • Support the Sales function by performing feasibility studies for potential customers and assisting in the preparation of business cases, project estimations, and proposal documents.
  • Although focused on APC, become familiar with the wider AVEVA Optimization and Schneider Electric automation portfolio.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or other engineering with process modeling, statistics, or process control focus.
  • Fluent in English, you will work with colleagues and customers worldwide. Other languages are valuable.
  • Understanding of process modelling and dynamical systems. Model Predictive Control and AI applied to industrial processes.
  • Python or other programming languages capabilities.
  • Availability to travel away from home for up to 30% of working time.
  • Competence in the general area of computer applications, software development, Windows architectures, and networks.
  • Knowledge of conventional process control systems, instrumentation, DCS, and historians.
  • Driver's license.
  • Industrial experience in the process sector (internships or junior roles) is valuable.
  • Strong self-motivation and independent thinking.
  • Excellent customer-facing attributes.
  • Passionate about technology and optimization
