The Vice President/Sr. Associate of Equity Middle Office Business Support within the Corporate & Investment Banking division of Santander US Capital Markets, LLC is responsible for providing daily support to the Equity Front Office on all trading and non-trading activities, including trade capture, lifecycle management, controls, reporting, client services, and daily reconciliations in a fast paced & dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily support to the Equity Trading & Sales desk, answering queries and liaising with service teams to ensure trades and economics are correctly reported through the system architecture.
  • Provide regional and global coverage, managing the client's transactional portfolio and taking calculated steps to ensure that the client and Santander are not exposed to financial or reputational risk.
  • On-boarding of new clients and ensuring that SSI's and all data integrity is accurately loaded.
  • Processing trade allocations, affirmations, and monitoring the accuracy & timely delivery of client reports.
  • Resolution of breaks in a timely and accurate manner; liaising with Trading, Sales, Technology, Risk, Finance, and Core Operations team's.
  • Work closely with Product Control for accurate daily P&L capture.
  • Contribute to system and process enhancement efforts across the organization. Partner with other Operations and Middle Office colleagues as well as business areas on issues and improvements.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Should possess an advanced understanding of trade support, investment bank products and markets.
  • Must be knowledgeable in both US and Intl Equity products, specifically LATAM
  • Strong experience supporting Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Peru - A MUST.
  • Ability to work close to traders and sales in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Fidessa & DTC Alert/CTM - A MUST. Knowledge of Broadridge BPS, Pershing NetX, Murex, IPREO. - A Strong Plus

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience - Business or equivalent degree.

Work Experience:

  • 9-12 years' experience working in the Financial Services Industry at a Broker-Dealer in the Middle Office or Operations areas.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of operational risk and an ability to pro-actively manage risk.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel needed. PowerPoint and Word would be helpful.
  • Attention to detail, excellent administration, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Highly motivated team player able to demonstrate an ability to prioritize daily work effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to present complex subjects in an accessible manner.
  • Ability to build relationships and work with others through influence (rather than authority).
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior management and clients.
  • FINRA Series 99 or 7 will be a plus. - Not required
  • Spanish Speaker will be a plus. - Not required
