About Our Team:
MESA Silicon Microfabrication Group develops and maintains core semiconductor processing capabilities that enable our customers to build differentiating Microsystems products. The Silicon Fab has processing expertise in CMOS, MEMS, Silicon Photonics, and Ion Trap technologies. Over 150 tools are maintained, supported, and operated 20 hours per day, 5 days a week (2 shifts). Critical infrastructure and safety systems, enabling fab operations, are maintained, and sustained by an integrated team of domain specialists with specialization in semiconductor equipment and emergency response.
The Process Engineering II Department is responsible for the intricate processing steps involved in creating the microelectronic circuits on a chip by controlling and refining each manufacturing stage using specialized equipment and techniques. The process engineers design, develop, optimize, and maintain the complex chemical and physical processes used to fabricate semiconductor devices on silicon wafers, ensuring high quality, yield, and cost-effectiveness throughout the manufacturing cycle, from wafer preparation to final wafer delivery to our post-Fab customer.
This department is responsible for:
- Photolithography
- Wet Etch
- Dry Etch
- Chemical Mechanical Polishing (CMP)
