The Workforce Operations Senior Data Analyst professional will play a crucial role in supporting the Professional Services Strategy & Ops team as well as the explosive growth of Salesforce. This role is a hybrid of traditional jobs in professional services planning, strategy, business operations, reporting, and analysis - requiring a mix of data architecture, analytics, and business operational support.
This role is part of a high-performance team comprised of professionals from a diverse set of backgrounds and skills. We are seeking a strategic thinker who can effectively balance detailed analysis with a comprehensive understanding of broader business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to synthesize complex data and insights into clear, actionable strategies that align with our overarching goals. This role requires someone who can navigate both high-level strategic planning and intricate operational details, ensuring that all efforts contribute to the success of or organization.
Data Analysts are critical in helping drive the success of our position and worker data at Salesforce and plays a pivotal role in managing the execution of their organization's annual workforce plan. The deliverables include detailed analytic models, tool development and processes to build scalable reporting and data management processes for our business. The role requires interaction with various areas of the organization and provides exposure to senior leaders. This role will also have the opportunity to contribute to critical initiatives for Workforce Operations including annual Go for Growth (G4G) new Fiscal Year strategic planning.
Your Impact
Manage the Global Professional Services job architecture and compensation plan deployment for all new hires, transfers and annual changes. Manage the training for all changes to job architecture. Manage the tool development requirements for all rules and scripts required to maintain accuracy of our position and worker records in Workday. Manage all APIs between the tools as well as the loading of bulk changes to position details.
- Serve as a skilled data storyteller, preparing and delivering compelling narratives using data.
- Understand business use cases and deliver meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Anticipate future questions and proactively answer them with data resources.
- Create trusted, easily understood, aesthetically pleasing, and scalable data artifacts.
- Construct, optimize, and document queries for review and future enhancement.
- Partner with team members to deliver complex data projects on time and with high quality.
- Pivot quickly between competing priorities and communicate workload and capacity effectively with leadership.
- Adapt messages to a variety of audiences, including peers, leaders, and executives.
- Support tooling and data platform updates as needed.
- Align compensation plans, quota's and targets to all commissionable employees and maintain accuracy in employee's plan assignments, metrics and scopes. Report out all exceptions and make recommendations to minimize exceptions.
- Build out all tools for workforce planning and adjust the rules in Orgvue and Workday in order to drive accuracy.
- Be trusted with access to sensitive cost related data to help inform decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders (finance, recruiting, employee success and Workday Center of Excellence) to manage headcount requests as well as improve HCM processes and systems
- Advocate for and implement process improvements, finding new ways to automate existing tasks and solve operational issues. Propose effective changes to systems and processes to address root causes
Required Skills / Experience
- 4+ years of professional experience in an analytical role, operations or strategy department
- Outstanding problem solving skills: consistent track record to ask questions, develop solutions and recommendations
- Critical thinking and ability to make decisions within business guardrails
- Self-starter and a high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to explain complex issues in an understandable way
- Results and service oriented with a strong ability to proactively make and communicate progress with incomplete information
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests
- Strong situational analysis, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Detail and quality-oriented with the desire to quickly learn new concepts, business models, and technologies
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Orgvue and Workday position management
- Familiarity with CRM and Salesforce reporting, coupled with sophisticated G-suite expertise (Sheets, Slides, etc.).
- Excel, SQL, Tableau/Alation/Snowflake, or other Business Intelligence tools
