Sourcing Category Manager
Salesforce - Procurement team is seeking a Services Sourcing Category Manager to manage Salesforce In-direct services sourcing commodities within Japan, Korea and Taiwan (excluding IT and Tech-sourcing) . This role will be instrumental in elevating our service capabilities at Salesforce, overseeing categories such as HR, Professional services, Real Estate and Workplace Services(REWS), Marketing, and Meetings & Events.
This position is located in Tokyo and reports directly to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, also located in Tokyo.
Key Performance Objectives:
- Drive the development and execution of Sourcing strategies related to category spend areas. This includes analyzing spend data, conducting market research, formulating strategies to optimize and rationalize expenditure, recommending and running RFx processes, and negotiating contract terms with suppliers.
- Oversee and understand key metrics and analytics to provide solutions to current processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency.
- Navigate and process complex spreadsheets or datasets, and effectively translate data analytics into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Maintain familiarity with the Source-to-Pay (S2P) Process and manage its operation in accordance with internal policies and requisites, demonstrating a strong sense of Compliance.
- Influence strategies and decisions and lead complex, high-visibility, negotiations with strategic and key suppliers. This includes establishing service levels, key performance indicators, and negotiating price and terms to mitigate risk and maximize cost savings.
- Manage all engagements and relationships with major suppliers, and drive quarterly business reviews with key suppliers in collaboration with key business stakeholders, 1 ensuring adherence to agreed service levels.
- Establish and expand relationships with Salesforce business stakeholders, and collaborate with relevant departments such as Legal, Ethics, Accounting, Finance & Strategy, AP, and Risk Management as necessary.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing/Global Procurement, experience managing a Purchasing system, indirect purchasing category, and reviewing, analyzing, drafting and negotiating contract terms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English. Fluency in both languages is required.
- Strong negotiation skills, with knowledge and experience of supplier management, project management, and strategic sourcing practices.
- Analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret data, and formulate effective strategies.
- Demonstrated ownership and proactive approach to driving initiatives, while also being a collaborative team player.
- Mindset focused on continuous process improvement and a commitment to a growth mindset.
- Must demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and possess strong time management skills, comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable delivering presentations at the Executive Level and building relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including business stakeholders and suppliers.
- An aptitude for learning and adapting to new technologies, including AI.
- Knowledge of salesforce is desired but not required.
