The Developer Experience product team at Salesforce builds tools and experiences that enable developers on the Salesforce platform to build AI-powered applications while leveraging robust, AI-powered developer tooling and modern DevOps principles and practices.

Help define the future strategy for AI-driven developer experience of Web UI on the Salesforce platform, including Lightning Web Components (LWC), React Apps, and other industry web UI frameworks. Define and deliver modern development tools and experiences for both external and internal developers, consistent with industry standards, compatible with the Salesforce platform and Salesforce DX methodologies, and leveraging the power of AI to drive increased developer productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and articulate customer needs, set product direction, and drive the team to execute on a shared vision.
  • Engage customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to determine business requirements, technical considerations and strategic objectives for web development with Salesforce.
  • Design and manage the roadmap. Make tough tactical prioritization decisions while helping the company think long term. Build trust with stakeholders and your engineering counterparts by maintaining an understandable, accurate roadmap.
  • Partner with internal teams like Salesforce Lightning, Agentforce, Salesforce APIs, AI Research, and Developer Tooling to ensure a shared vision and collaborative approach.
  • Use your influencing and communication skills to share and align your strategy across the greater PM team and overall product strategy.
  • Work with product and developer marketing teams to create product collateral, presentations, demos, and sales tools to support the launch of new products and new product features. Communicate product news and updates both externally and internally.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across the organization and externally.
  • Work with your peer engineering, UX, and documentation leaders to achieve high performance teams that balance innovation, supportability and reliability.
  • Work with partners, both internal and external, who build products that are complementary to our solution to look for opportunities to partner, engage, and integrate our products into a more robust overall solution.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks for web UI development.
  • Experience with AI-based tooling, particularly for development assistance.
  • Familiarity with software development, test, build, release processes, preferably also with development on the Salesforce platform.
  • Ability to operate in an environment that can have ambiguity and change.
  • Shown ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams to complete a plan.
  • Motivated by solving complex problems and bringing order & structure to ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to influence and coordinate cross-organization teams to execute important company priorities.
  • Ability to communicate to various stakeholders ranging from tactical technical detail to high level strategy.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership, participating in new product launches, and handling sensitive customer escalations.
  • Preferred:

    • Experience shipping developer products or services
    • Experience with development on the Salesforce platform
    • Strong user experience/design sense
    • Experience working with engineering teams using agile/scrum methodologies
    • Computer Science degree, or equivalent

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $184,000 to $253,000.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $200,800 to $276,100.
