Technical Program Managers (TPM) play a critical role within Salesforce Security. They lead large-scale, cross-functional security initiatives focused on developing, protecting and maintaining our customers' trust. TPMs are responsible for seeing programs through from beginning to end, ensuring efficient workflows, driving to measurable results and facilitating through effective communication. They work closely with executives and key company stakeholders to drive critical programs and activities across the company to deliver meaningful business results. In short, the TPM brings together teams, organizes efforts and drives execution to continuously increase our security posture.
We are seeking an individual that is passionate about security and compliance, a creative problem solver and a change agent who seeks out roadblocks or tough organizational issues, views them as an opportunity and drives resolution.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership and accountability of technical program planning and delivery for programs in Identity and Access, Data Security, Network Security, Technical Resilience, Cloud Security and other Security Domains, using demonstrated strong analytical and technical skills.
- Develop trusted relationships with key technology and functional stakeholders to drive focus on the strategic program objectives and optimize delivery. This includes supporting and holding resources accountable for their responsibilities within the program.
- Partner with risk management and internal audit teams to deliver tools that meet compliance requirements. Drive requirements, planning and implementation that builds compliance into our processes and tools from the start.
- Utilize agile methodologies and product development lifecycle to successfully partner with product and engineering organizations. Collaborate with senior managers and engineers to architect and develop the best technical and operational design and approach, delivering value quickly to customers.
- Initiate programs and create alignment on program planning. Bring teams together to define the business objectives, program structures, and cross-functional support necessary to succeed.
- Translate business objectives into execution strategy (tactical and strategic), lead and successfully execute the strategy through strong collaboration and agile leadership.
- Lead regular review meetings with key stakeholders. Provide transparent updates, help drive key decisions, pro-actively remove obstacles, manage dependencies across teams, identify risks and address key program issues.
- Provide regular visibility to program status (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics, etc.) through status reporting to all stakeholders. Ensure data is collected to appropriately inform decision-making for mitigating risks and resolving issues.
- Utilize internal tools and agile mindset to create a collaborative environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, innovation, and learning; promotes continuous improvement.
- Drive for clarity to keep teams moving forward, ensure business objectives are met and each program delivers on its commitments.
- Be a thought leader within the organization, someone who can help advance our security strategy globally and challenge others to move beyond the current state.
- Pursue continuous growth through professional development and proactively seeking and adopting constructive feedback.
Essential Skiils
- 8+ years of experience working in the field of computer security and risk management or 10+ years of enterprise software/technical program management experience at an enterprise technology company.
- Knowledge and experience with risk and compliance management.
- Knowledge and willingness to learn relevant security technologies, with an understanding of Zero Trust mindset.
- Outstanding record of complex program management with a record of success in achieving key business outcomes.
- Prior experience managing programs in security domains.
- Demonstrated use of professional, repeatable methodology for initiation, work breakdown, scheduling, reporting, risk and change management
- Skilled in risk management. Can perform business and project risk analysis to make complex business/risk trade-off recommendations and decisions
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation.
- Experience with creating detailed reporting and dashboards
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with compliance and security standards, policies, and risk management
- Public cloud infrastructure knowledge
- Ability to quickly learn Salesforce application to build tools and reports or strong interest in technology and ability to develop application/tool to automate processes
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer or data science, or a related technical field
- Understanding of Security Development Lifecycle
- Have or desire to attain a PMP, CISM and/or CISSP, and Agile certification
